Heathkit TM-1626 • Stereo Microphone Mixer with Catalogue • 1970s USA

This time capsule includes a Heathkit TM-1626 stereo microphone mixer dated 1978 and a Heathkit Fall 1976 catalogue.

The mixer is in great shape compared to others I have seen and upon testing was amazingly found fully-functional and sounding good. The VU meters and indicator LEDs still light up. Because of the rarity I decided to leave this one as-is with all-original parts.

That being said there are a couple of minor issues to note with the mixer. The first microphone channel strip is damaged along one side of the fader and is harder to move up and down as a result, the fader itself is still working well. The other is that the power switch was broken off when I got it, but it is still possible to flip the switch by pressing your finger tip into it and moving back and forth. It would be a fairly strait forward repair to replace the switch but I did not find it necessary and wanted to preserve the original condition. This one is built well, looking inside reveals good solder joints and no corrosion.
