Dual Lofi Telephone Microphone • French Continental Style • 70s • Altered by Varium
French Continental style Victorian phone made in the 70s altered to function as a dual microphone with 1/4” output.
Use the switch on the mouthpiece to switch between microphones located in the mouth and ear of the handset. Only one mic is output at a time.
Mouthpiece: modern lofi mic capsule
Earpiece: original phone speaker used as lofi microphone
Each has a different tonal character. The modern mic is thinner and crisp, the earpiece is warmer and crunchy.
The switch hook cradle acts a mute switch, so when the phone is hung up, the singal is muted.
The rotary dial creates a noisey stutter effect as the dial is rotated that cuts the signal in and out.
Both the switch hook and rotary dial can be bypassed with switches on the bottom.
There is a single female 1/4” connector cable that tucks nicely under the phone when not in use.
Phone Model: Aberesque Elegance Series French Cradle Series. Made in Singapore.
One of a kind altered instrument.
